A weekend of mixed results for two SK Austria Klagenfurt sides: while our women dropped points for the first time this season on Saturday at USC Landhaus, going down 3-1, the amateurs celebrated an important 4-1 home win against SV Afritz 1975 on Sunday.
First defeat of the season for our women
After a strong start to the campaign with three wins and a draw, the Austria women travelled to Vienna unbeaten on Saturday. At USC Landhaus, however, things did not go to plan this time. The Violets were already 2-0 down at the break.
Robert Micheu's side did manage a goal after the change of ends, but the game could no longer be turned around. In the end, Austria had to settle for a 3-1 defeat, suffering their first loss of the season in their fifth league match.

Amateurs bounce back with a 4-1 win
Sunday morning went rather more pleasantly for our amateurs. After two defeats in a row, the young Austria side showed the right response against SV Afritz 1975 and won 4-1 on the artificial turf at Sportpark Klagenfurt.
The Violets went into the dressing room with a narrow 1-0 lead and stepped it up after the change of ends. Three more goals saw Austria make the home win emphatic and pick up three points again after some difficult weeks.
