Both the women's team and the amateurs of SK Austria Klagenfurt ended their fixtures last Saturday with a draw. While our women played out a 0-0 away at Wiener Sport-Club in the 2. Frauen Bundesliga, the amateurs fought back from a goal down to earn a 1-1 against SV Oberglan in the Unterliga Mitte.

Women take a point back from Vienna

After the convincing 6-2 away win against LUV Graz the previous week, our Austria women were on the road again on Saturday. This time the journey took them to Vienna, where Wiener Sport-Club awaited as their next opponents in the 2. Frauen Bundesliga.

In a match in which neither side found the net, the Violets were unable to turn their attacking play into goals as they had done in recent games. At the same time, the defence stood firm and did not concede.

After 90 minutes it finished goalless at 0-0. Our women therefore take another point back to Klagenfurt and remain unbeaten in their second consecutive away match.

The next fixture is already coming up this Saturday, 31 October. At 2:00 pm the Violets host GAK 1902 at the Karawankenblick Stadion.

Amateurs fight their way back against Oberglan

After two impressive wins against FC Faakersee (5-1) and SV WellCard Moosburg (6-2), our amateurs were also looking to continue their successful run. As part of the Oktoberfest weekend, they welcomed SV Oberglan on the artificial pitch at the Sportpark Klagenfurt on Saturday.

The game did not begin as hoped, however. In the 26th minute Oberglan had the chance to take the lead from a penalty, but Austria goalkeeper Nape saved the spot kick and kept his side on level terms for the time being.

Only a few minutes later the visitors did find the opener after all. In the 29th minute Oberglan went 1-0 up. Despite the efforts of our Violets, the score remained unchanged until half-time.

After the break the amateurs worked hard to get back on level terms. In the 62nd minute their efforts were rewarded: Mario Lozic scored to make it 1-1 and brought Austria back into the game.

Neither side managed another goal in the remaining time. So after 90 minutes it finished 1-1.

Following the two clear wins in the previous weeks, our amateurs therefore remain unbeaten for the third game in a row.

The next task is already waiting this Sunday, 1 November. At 11:00 am our amateurs host DSG Ferlach in their next home game.
