Our Austria women picked up another home win on Saturday afternoon. In matchday 9 of the 2. Frauen Bundesliga, the Violets came out on top against GAK 1902, winning 4-2 (2-0). Magdalena Moser with a brace, plus Noel Marie Blain and Christina Fandl, got the goals that secured three important points.

After the goalless draw at Wiener Sport-Club the previous week, our Austria women were determined to celebrate a full-blown success in front of their home crowd. The team was focused from the first whistle and took the initiative early on.

The first reason to celebrate came as early as the 9th minute. Noel Marie Blain put our Violets 1-0 up for the perfect start. Just eight minutes later Magdalena Moser added another, making it 2-0 in the 17th minute. That was also the score at the break.

Our Austria remained a threat going forward after the restart as well. In the 60th minute it was Magdalena Moser again who found the back of the net, her second goal of the day making it 3-0.

The visitors from Graz refused to give up, however, and pulled it back to 3-2 as the game went on. Our Violets held on to their lead nonetheless and had the final say in the closing minute. Christina Fandl struck in the 90th minute to set the final score at 4-2 and seal the home win.

With a committed team performance, our Austria women rewarded themselves with another three points and remained unbeaten for a third game in a row.
