After the convincing 3-0 home win against league leaders ATUS Velden, SK Austria Klagenfurt face their final match before the winter break on Friday, 30 October, kicking off at 19:00 at the ATSV Arena in Wolfsberg. The Violets travel to ATSV Wolfsberg and want to head into the winter break with another win. Head coach Carsten Jancker, however, is expecting a demanding task.
Last Saturday's home win against Velden was an important step for Austria after a difficult few weeks. With a strong collective performance and goals from Sebastian Pschernig (2) and Daniel Owusu, the Klagenfurt side won 3-0 and inflicted the first defeat of the season on the previous league leaders.
Now the aim is to repeat that performance in the last match before the winter break. On Friday evening, ATSV Wolfsberg await — an opponent Carsten Jancker is certainly not underestimating.
"Tomorrow will be tough. ATSV are a well-organised side and will try to make life as difficult as possible for us. We know that we are the hunted. Even so, we want to play our game and come off the pitch as winners," explains the Austria head coach.
The mood within the squad is accordingly positive after the success against Velden. In terms of personnel, too, Jancker has almost everyone at his disposal. Apart from the long-term absentees, all players are available.
"The win against Velden did us a lot of good, the mood in the team is good. Now we want to put everything in once more so that we go into the winter break with a positive result," says Jancker.
That gives the Violets the chance to round off the football year with two wins in a row and head into the winter break on a high.
