The name Kalajdzic is very well known to soccer fans in Austria.
Just a few weeks ago, ÖFB national team striker Sasa Kalajdzic made headlines with his decisive goal in extra time of the World Cup round of 16. Now his younger brother, Daniel, is moving to the Wörthersee to bolster SK Austria Klagenfurt’s offense alongside Daniel Owusu.
With Daniel Kalajdzic, Austria is adding a forward who knows Austrian soccer inside and out. The 25-year-old center forward brings experience from the 2nd League and the Regional League. With his physical presence, heading ability, and finishing skills, Daniel Kalajdzic is expected to play an important role in the Violets’ offensive play going forward.
“I’m really excited to be part of this team and this club. Now it’s time to succeed together as a team and rack up as many wins as possible. I can’t wait to finally get started and meet the fans at Wörthersee Stadium,” says Daniel Kalajdzic.
Also new to the squad is Daniel Owusu. The 23-year-old attacking player has been in Klagenfurt on trial for the past few weeks and impressed both in training and in several friendly matches. The Ghanaian has already gained experience in Austrian professional soccer, including a stint with FC Liefering. With his speed, dynamism, and versatility, he expands the Violets’ options in attack.

Another new addition to the roster is Daniel Owusu. “Daniel Kalajdzic and Daniel Owusu bring different qualities to the table and are excellent additions to our roster. Both made exactly the impression we had hoped for, both in our discussions and on the field. We’re very pleased that they’ve chosen to join us on this journey and are confident that they’ll strengthen our team,” says Austria’s majority shareholder, Zeljko Karajica.
With Kalajdzic and Owusu, Austria is adding two offensive players with different strengths. While Kalajdzic is expected to impress primarily with his physical presence and finishing ability, Owusu brings speed, dynamism, and experience from Austrian professional soccer. It’s a combination that the Violets hope will give their offense added firepower.
